Thanks for visiting the home page of the Sunshine Coast Jewish Community Inc., or the SCJC as it’s known to its friends.

We are a diverse group of people, joining together to share our lives with other Jewish people in our region.

Within our membership we have people with varying upbringings from the traditional through to more progressive Jewish backgrounds. With mutual respect and our common Jewish thread we unify as vibrant community.

Our ethos is to be inclusive and to celebrate our Jewishness with enthusiasm and sincerity.

From humble beginnings the SCJC has grown to be incorporated as an Association in 2010.

Together we celebrate the high holidays, a communal Seder, regular communal Shabbats dinners, and many other religious and cultural events. Each year sees more development.

We have a Cheder to provide a Jewish education and sense of identity for our young people.

A consecrated Jewish cemetery has been created and we operate a Chevra Kadisha to assist our Jewish family in their time of need.

Our community also takes great pleasure in celebrating our personal milestones including bar & bat mitzvahs and births.
